Selection of a wonder through voting depends entirely on the number of votes polled. A wonder is not merely subservient to public opinion, and we can't select a man-made marvel by getting anybody to vote for it. Voters should know enough about each of the marvels to arrive at a preference. In fact, they should have visited a marvel to learn about its uniqueness. The right way would have been to select the voters through registration based on certain criteria and then invite them to participate in the polls.
